The Handover Ceremony was held at the Petty Officer, Chief Petty Officer and Warrant Officer Mess, Royal Brunei Navy (Senior Rates' Mess, RBN) where a new President Mess Committee (PMC) for the Senior Rates' Mess, RBN was appointed.
The Guest of Honor during the ceremony was Commander Ali Mustafa bin Hj Umar, the Officer in Charge of the Senior Rates' Mess, RBN. The highlight of the event was the Signing of the Handover Certificate, marking the official handing over of the RBN Senior Rate's Mess PMC between Warrant Officer 1 Mohd Alimin bin Hj Roslan and his successor, Warrant Officer 1 Sukarnain bin Mohamed.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Warrant Officer 2 Irwan bin Hj Tarif followed by a speech from the Outgoing PMC. In his speech he thanked the RBN Senior Rates' Mess Committee 2022-2023 for their contribution pushing through the challenge posed by COVID-19 restrictions and being able to mitigate the risks to conduct events for the mess. The incoming PMC also made his inaugural speech by urging the next Senior Rates' Mess Committee 2023-2024 to take on their responsibility with full commitment and sincerity. The handover ceremony was then concluded with the recitation of the closing prayer.
